Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Tilak Verma unveiled the new jersey for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on December 3, 2025. The newly launched jersey presented a mix of 1990s nostalgia mixed with performance tech.
The unveiling took place during the halfway break in the second ODI at Raipur between India and South Africa. The event also featured representatives from the BCCI and its kit partner, Adidas.

Built on a deep-blue foundation, the new jersey features strong orange side panels and mild vertical light-blue stripes across the front, a conscious tribute to the striped kits of the 1990s.
Seeking to combine tradition with modern flair, the design preserves the well-known neckline worn at India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. The tricolour is now front and centre on the collar; the team crest and Adidas logo sit left and right on the chest respectively.
The kit uses high-performance features, perforated three-stripe tapes and mesh inserts to fit the conditions anticipated at the tournament next year, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Combining vintage design with cutting-edge textile innovation, the new jersey appears set to capture contemporary audiences as well as purists.
For many, the deep-blue colour and stripe-driven design bring up memories of earlier times of Indian cricket, while yet providing the comfort and performance expected today.
Set to start on February 7, 2026, at Wankhede Stadium, the fresh look officially sets the tone for India’s forthcoming title defence at the 2026 World Cup.
As part of Group A, Team India will open against the USA cricket team. Whether the new jersey becomes a memorable symbol, linked to victory, hope, or high-stakes matches, will become clear as supporters wear the hues and the players take the field under its banner.
