The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will celebrate outstanding achievements in Indian cricket.
Roger Binny, Rahul Dravid, and Mithali Raj will be honored with the Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. This is the highest honor from the BCCI. This award is given to recognize outstanding service to Indian cricket at the Naman Awards.
Binny is recognized for his achievements in cricket for India. He was an integral part of the 1983 World Cup-winning team. During his international career, he featured in 27 Tests and 72 ODIs for India. He was also the highest wicket-taker for India in the 1983 World Cup campaign.
Binny was also a part of the 1985 team that won the World Championship of Cricket. Later, he served as the coach of the India U-19 team that won the 2000 World Cup. He has also been a selector for the Indian team at one point in time. He was also the President of BCCI for a few years.
Rahul Dravid is a name in Indian cricket known for humility and calmness. During his playing days, he featured in 509 international matches and scored over 24,000 runs in international cricket. Being a wicketkeeper, he took more than 400 catches in his career. During his captaincy, India won a historic Test series in England in 2007.
Dravid also served as the coach of the Men’s Under-19 team, India A, and the India men’s team. During his tenure as a coach, India’s senior men’s team won the T20 World Cup in 2024.
Mithali Raj played for India in 333 matches across formats. She became the first player ever in the world to score over 10,000 runs in international cricket. Under Mithali’s captaincy, India reached two World Cup finals.
