The Indian Premier League is going on, and so is the drama revolving around it. If the statements made by the convenor of the Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (RCA) ad-hoc committee, Jaydeep Bihani, are to be believed, then IPL match-fixing has become rampant. Outspoken ex-Pakistani cricketer Tanvir Ahmed claims that match-fixers manage most of the IPL teams.
For this reason, enraged fans have condemned Tanvir’s view, going to the extent of calling him a ‘clown.’ Having alleged match fixing by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after two consecutive tight losses from winning positions, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) convener, Bihani, went on to state that the franchise firmly rejects the allegations.
At this phase, Tanvir went on to make an audacious comment, which is as follows:
“BCCI bolta ha humari IPL duniya ke sab say bari league ha, han woh tou ha lekin fixing bhi sab say bari hote ha ziyada tar tou teams fixers kay pass hain”, Tanvir wrote on X. Tanvir’s statement meant that indeed IPL is the biggest league in the world as BCCI claims, however, it is not the only aspect in which it tops. According to Tanvir, IPL is also the biggest fixing league as well, because most of the teams are owned by fixers.
Responses from the audience, however, have been heated on this comment of Tanvir. The RCA, as per reports, used to get around 1,800 tickets per match from the Rajasthan Royals (RR), and that number has dramatically decreased in 2025. Currently, the RCA is reportedly getting about 1,000-1,200 tickets per match.
An RR insider commented that “ The disgruntled RCA ad-hoc committee member and his associates are demanding an exorbitant number of tickets,” adding that “That is the only reason for all this drama.”
