Gill, Rahul, and Jadeja to Play Vijay Hazare Trophy in January

More international Indian players are set to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in January 2026. Now, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and KL Rahul will join their respective state teams in the coming days. This is for the preparation of the upcoming New Zealand games next month. 

It is learnt that these players have informed their respective associations of their availability for the 50-over tournament. 

The ODI skipper of India, Shubman Gill, is set to join his state team, Punjab, and will play on January 3 and 6. Punjab will take on Sikkim and Goa on those days in Jaipur. Punjab is with Mumbai in Group C, and they are in fourth place with 8 points. He will join the Indian team on January 7 in Baroda along with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and others. 

Jadeja has informed the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) that he will play the January 6 and 8 matches. Saurashtra is slated to play against Services and Gujarat. They have only managed to win one of their games and are placed sixth in their group, which includes Delhi. 

In the case of KL Rahul, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has not yet confirmed which games he will play. According to the sources, in all likelihood, he will turn up for the January 3 and 6 matches. Karnataka will play against Tripura and Rajasthan in Ahmedabad in their upcoming matches. They are in second place in their group with three wins. 

The Mumbai Cricket Association has confirmed that Yashasvi Jaiswal is expected to play the December 31 game against Goa.
