Harry Brook, the white-ball captain of England, has offered comments on his ban from the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is currently very involved in the current Test series against India. Talking about his IPL suspension, Brook clarified why he had left the Delhi Capitals camp even though he had been bought for a respectable sum of Rs 6. 25 crore at the 2025 mega auction. His suspension from the IPL for the next two years came as a result of this decision.

Looking back on his decision to leave the IPL, Brook noted, “It was an incredibly difficult decision. The IPL is an amazing tournament. It’s tough cricket, with the best players in the world. The crowds and atmosphere are amazing. It is the best franchise tournament in the world. I would love to play the IPL in the future, but for the time being, the focus is on England duties.”

Brook remarked in a media interaction organized by Sony Sports Network, “I would want to play in the IPL later.” Harry Brook said he chose to sit out the competition so he could give all of his focus to the England national team. Still, Brook has no regrets about his choice. He used those hours to play games versus the West Indies and Zimbabwe, where he batted well for his side.

Brook is now participating in the Test series against India. With a crucial 99 runs in the first Test, he helped the team erase the lead in a high-scoring game and greatly added to England’s win. Brook noted that spin bowling may become increasingly crucial during the second Test as the game goes on.

Historically, the Edgbaston pitch can be flatter. More support is probably on hand for spinners. Otherwise, it usually offers a customary English pitch. “If there is any spin, and I’m completely guessing here, it will probably be late on days three, four and five,” Brook noted finally.
