Rishabh Pant with Yuvraj Singh

Rishabh Pant has been working with Yuvraj Singh for the past week in Mumbai. This is in relation to his preparation for the upcoming IPL 2026.

The two players worked for about four days at the Brabourne Stadium. They held batting sessions day and night while trying out a range of shots.

Pant didn’t have a good IPL season last year. So, he is interested in changing that and making a statement this year. A source close to both of these players said, “He shares a good personal equation with Yuvraj, and the two had discussed the possibility of working together for a few days. It materialised last week.”

Yuvraj Singh is a white-ball legend of Indian cricket. For the past few years, he has developed a reputation as a mentor. He has worked with players like Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Prabhsimran Singh.

Yuvraj is credited with growing Abhishek as a batter in T20 cricket. Abhishek has become one of the most feared T20 batters in world cricket.

So, from that perspective, he could also help Pant in his white-ball career. Pant has not played for India in white-ball cricket since August 2024.

After these sessions with Yuvraj Singh, Pant got on a plane and flew to Chennai. His team, Lucknow Super Giants, is holding a preparatory camp in the city. Bowling coach Bharat Arun and batting coach Lance Klusener are in charge of the proceedings in the camp. Players like Ayush Badoni, Mohsin Khan, Himmat Singh, Digvesh Singh, Mayank Yadav, and Prince Yadav are attending this camp organized by their team. After Chennai, they will shift the camp to Lucknow on March 15.

Rajasthan Royals will hold a Preparatory Camp in Jaipur

On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals also announced their preseason camp. They will hold a training camp in Jaipur from March 17. So, Rajasthan players will gather at Sawai Mansingh Stadium and kick off the camp with training, fitness, and nets sessions.

The Royals said, “Under the guidance of head coach and director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara, the camp will focus on fostering team bonding, intensive training, and planning, along with strength and training sessions.”
