The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season’s performance of Rishabh Pant has been rather dismal. Being the most highly compensated player in the league, he has faced much backlash over his failure to perform with the bat. Given his high price tag, this lack of form has brought up some major doubts about his value. Analysts such as Aakash Chopra have also remarked that Pant needs to reconsider the tactics he uses in T20. Besides this, several other former cricketers have made statements on his performance.

Questions about Pant’s worth to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have arisen as a result of his series of poor performances. Bought for an incredible Rs 27 crore, his contributions have fallen short of expectations. Early departure by Pant seriously hurt LSG’s playoff chances in a vital match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), therefore exacerbating the team’s problems.

Pant’s batting has been erratic all season long. He has only scored 135 runs over 12 games, averaging a meagre 12.27 with a strike rate of 100. His performance has included several single-digit scores and even a duck, emphasizing the challenges he has faced at the crease. His recent dismissal against the Mumbai Indians (MI), where he tried a reverse sweep on just his second ball, was greeted with criticism from fans as well as commentators.

Still, people like Zaheer Khan praised Pant’s leadership abilities and said he believed he may recover from this difficult moment. Zaheer emphasized that Pant’s resilience and upbeat perspective are useful qualities that will enable him to get beyond this trying period. All eyes are on whether he can get back his form and provide a significant contribution to LSG’s campaign as the season progresses.

Even though Lucknow has not been able to qualify this year, Rishabh Pant could use the opportunity in the upcoming Indian Premier Playoffs to get back on track. Fans are hopeful that the star cricketer will soon get back to his original form.
