The Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set for a new exciting season, which will commence on March 22 with the 18th edition of the T20 league in Kolkata. The lineup for the inauguration ceremony has been fixed, with Bollywood star Disha Patani to woo the fans before the first match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
The show will also have a program by famous singer Shreya Ghoshal with the ICC chairman Jay Shah likely to grace the event and it does not stop here. Contrasting with the previous years, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is thinking of doing the opening ceremonies at all 13 venues for IPL matches.
As per the news, the various celebrities being lined up by the board would start opening the events in various places. Stars like Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, Katrina Kaif, Triptii Dimri, Ananya Panday, Madhuri Dixit, and Janhvi Kapoor are expected to be part of the celebrations through the IPL season.
A source mentioned it to Sportstar, “The goal is to feature a diverse array of Bollywood performers for all the events, and given the limited time between innings, we can accommodate two to three artists for these shows.”
It was further claimed by the reports, “Since this is the first time such a large-scale initiative is being undertaken, there are some logistical challenges. The BCCI and state associations are collaborating closely to ensure that everything runs smoothly without disrupting the matches.”
The matches will be played on the normal IPL venues for the 10 franchises, in addition to this, matches are also going to be played in the secondary home teams of some of the teams. Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Dharamshala, and Mullanpur will host matches for the Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings during this IPL season.
