Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the youngest player at IPL 2025, has been garnering limelight after his dreamy IPL season. Though his team, the Rajasthan Royals, didn’t have a very good season, the young prodigy’s performance mesmerized fans and other players.
The 14-year-old player, along with his family, got the chance to meet Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on Friday at the Bihar Airport. Upon meeting the Prime Minister, Suryavanshi’s gesture to touch Modi’s feet was seen as a mark of respect the player holds for the Prime Minister.
PM Modi also didn’t let this encounter go unnoticed, and shared a few glimpses of the meeting on X. “At Patna airport, met the young cricketing sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family. His cricketing skills are being admired all over the nation! My best wishes to him for his future endeavours,” was the caption with the pictures posted.
The moment was surely a memorable experience for the player as well as for his family. Vaibhav has emerged as one of the best batters for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) this year, with 252 runs in just 7 matches. His explosive batting style was loved by everyone, especially the knock he played against the Gujarat Titans (GT), where he scored a century.
The young cricketing talent captured PM Modi’s attention earlier also, when he spoke about Vaibhav in one of his Mann Ki Baat addresses. He acknowledged the skilled player, saying, “I have seen in the IPL, the son of Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s spectacular performance. At such a young age, Vaibhav has set such a great record. There is a lot of hard work behind Vaibhav’s performance.”
The Prime Minister further added that the more he plays, the more he will shine and competing in matches and tournaments is quite essential for Vaibhav at this stage of his career.
