On June 6, Preity Zinta, the actress and PBKS proprietor, made her comments on Instagram after her team’s close defeat to the RCB in IPL 2025: “It didn’t end the way we wanted it to, but the journey was spectacular! It was exciting, entertaining & it was inspiring. I loved the fight & the grit our young team showed throughout the tournament.”
She also complimented PBKS captain, Shreyas Iyer, saying, “I loved the way our captain, our Sarpanch led from the front & how Indian uncapped players dominated this IPL.”
The Punjab Kings made the IPL final for the first time in more than ten years this year. Zinta described the season as ‘unique’ emphasizing the many challenges the side had to overcome, injuries to important players, national call-ups, a tournament stoppage, to even moving home games.
PBKS did quite well this year, even after losing some major players to injuries and other reasons; they created several records this year and mesmerized everybody with their performance. Zinta said, “We adapted & topped the points table after a decade & fought till the end in an exciting final.”
Zinta thanked the support crew and supporters for their unrelenting belief and praised every player. She wrote, “I am so proud of each and every player of Punjab Kings for showing so much character throughout the tournament. A big thank you to each of them and to our support staff and everyone at PBKS for an incredible season. Most of all, she expressed her gratitude towards the Sher Squad, the fans, who stood with us through thick and thin.
She wrote, “Promise we will come back to finish the job, cuz as of now the job is still half done. See you next year in the stadium, till then, take care and stay safe, everyone. Love you all.”
