RCB Through WPL Playoffs and Four Teams Competing for Two Spots

| Posted on February 2, 2026

On Thursday, Grace Harris produced a decisive all-around display to seal the top spot for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the WPL. All other teams are still in contention as only two matches are remaining in the league stage.

Gujarat Giants are placed second on the table with 8 points, with a thrilling win over Delhi Capitals. They are scheduled to play the Mumbai Indians next. The simplest way for the Gujarat Giants to qualify is to beat the Mumbai Indians. However, they could also qualify even if they lost their match against MI. For that to happen, UP Warriorz Need to beat Delhi Capitals.

Mumbai Indians, the defending champions, are well placed in the points table with an excellent net run rate. If they win against the Gujarat Giants, then they can qualify due to their net run rate. In the matchup against GG, they also have 8-0 lead in the head-to-head count. However, if they lose to GG, then they would need UPW to beat DC.

Delhi Capitals lost three of their first four games. However, they revived their campaign with back-to-back wins over MI and RCB. However, their last defeat against GG left them reeling. Now, their only hope to qualify clearly is to beat the UPW in the next match. However, if they lose to UPW, then there would be a three-way tie, and a lot of permutations and combinations would come into play for the net run rate. However, they have the advantage of playing the final game of the league. So, they would know exactly what they need to do.

UP Warriorz occupy the last place in the points table. Their defeat to RCB on Thursday has left them on the brink of elimination. They also have the poorest net run rate in the league. However, they are not completely out yet, mathematically. They have an outside chance of qualifying with 6 points. For that, they would have to beat DC by a big margin. They would also hope that GG beat MI by a big margin on Friday.
