Former Indian all rounder Sriram apportioned assistant bowling coach for CSK

S Sriram, the former Indian all-rounder, has assumed the office of assistant bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who are getting ready for IPL 2025.

And it is quite a replete coaching staff alongside already present head coach Stephen Fleming, batting coach Mike Hussey, and bowling consultant Eric Simons.

With his vast experience in coaching at various levels, Sriram replaces Dwayne Bravo, who assumed the role of mentor with the Kolkata Knight Riders who are the champions. From 2016 to 2022, Sriram was the assistant coach for the Australian team before deciding to move to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise.

In August 2022, a couple of months before the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup, he was appointed as a T20 consultant for Bangladesh. Strangely or not, he then joined the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in September 2023 as an assistant coach for the IPL 2024.

Following this, he packed his bags and headed to Bangladesh to assist as a technical consultant not for T20 objectives but rather for ODI purposes. Daredevils, renamed Delhi Capitals, also formed an integral part of Sriram’s coaching career where he joined as an assistant coach for a short duration.

Since Chennai Super Kings are getting ready for IPL 2025 the team has acquired some of the most effective spinners on the roster. The lineup includes R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal, and Noor Ahmad plus Deepak Hooda and Rachin Ravindra as spinning all-rounders.

In the previous edition of the competition, the men in yellow were precariously placed at number five in the points table. The next IPL season, which is the 2025 version, is scheduled to begin on the 22nd of March. The first match of the season is between Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions, and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Kolkata, while CSK will play their first match at home the following day against Mumbai Indians.
