An Expression of Interest has been floated by the BCCI, looking for an agency to handle the media buying and strategy for IPL 2025. The agency to be appointed will be responsible for developing and executing a thorough media strategy across platforms such as television, radio, digital, print, OOH advertising, and unique outdoor solutions.
The BCCI noted that the agencies intending to participate must be duly equipped to handle all these media channels in-house and at a comparable scale. It is an effort to rationally distribute their budgets over various avenues of advertising, thereby aiding the visibility and connection of the league.
Shortlisted agencies will then have to present a detailed media plan working with a budget of Rs 30 crore, exclusive of taxes. The submission must contain an elaborate media strategy showing a precise breakdown of the costing and samples of past work and in-house experience of media buying on all platforms.
Not only this, there are other things to be submitted including an outline of the agency fees/commissions/costs related to each medium, and any discounts for bulk purchases from market rates.
Last but not least, the submission should also include creative outdoor advertising proposals to increase IPL 2025 visibility. Interest must be expressed within March 10 with the last date for submission of proposals being March 13.
The project comes under the initiatives of BCCI for the purpose of increasing the reach of IPL for the next season and hence consolidating its position within the sports and entertainment landscape. The 2025 IPL completes its 18th edition, with 10 teams playing 74 matches from March 22 to May 25, 2025. The tournament will be played across 13 cities in India, with Kolkata hosting the opening ceremony and final as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) tries to defend its title.
