Kohli Fans Mistake Actor Arshad Warsi for Bowler After RCB vs GT

A section of Virat Kohli fans found themselves in the same old water after their favorite batter fell: targeting the wrong person this time on social media. Arshad Warsi’s recently born ‘victim’ became the centre of attention on Instagram. His comment section was flooded with comments from Kohli’s followers following the dismissal of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru star at the hands of Arshad Khan during their IPL 2025 match against the Gujarat Titans on April 2.

This by now does not end the experience of Kohli’s fans wrongly naming and thus wrongly focusing their vitriol onto that name of an imaginary bowler, who has taken Kohli out. After Glenn Phillips stunned the audience with a great jet to take Kohli to the pavilion in a group-stage match between India and New Zealand in Dubai, the electronics giant Philips faced the brunt of their trolling online.

It was fun sending up Arshad Warsi’s Instagram on Wednesday with a few witty comments, and some among these were quite light-hearted exchanges. “Kohli ko out kyun kiya,” said one fan on the latest post by Warsi featuring Ajay Devgn. Another chimed in with the famous line spoken by Warsi’s character from Munna Bhai MBBS, “Ee Circuit, tu Kohli ka wicket kyun liya re?”

In RCB’s first home game in the IPL 2025 season, Virat Kohli had shown signs of promise but fell to the young left-arm pacer Arshad Khan in the second over. Kohli flicked into Prasidh Krishna’s hands, who was at deep fine-leg. Although the shot was well-timed, it found the only fielder in that area.

After starting his IPL 2025 campaign with a match-winning 59 not out against KKR, Kohli struggled to produce another performance with the bat, managing just a modest 31 off 30 balls after 17 years and made history against CSK before falling also early on Wednesday against Gujarat.
