World Champion Team India presented NAMO jersey to PM Modi

On 5th November 2025, the women’s cricket team of India had an eventful encounter with the Prime Minister, which turned out to be a historic event uniting the leaders and the heroes in a glorious moment of national pride. The team entered the official residence of the PM, Narendra Modi, in New Delhi, right after their victory in the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup, which was the first in their history. 

Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, the team defeated the last opponent and was honored with a congratulatory celebration, accompanied by a trophy lift. The cricketers presented the Prime Minister with a specially made autographed jersey that had the name ‘NAMO’ on it, denoting togetherness and gratitude of the nation. Their victory was being hailed as a watershed moment in Indian culture, which was further emphasized by the ensuing discussions on sports and achievements.

Modi, in his address, invited the team to be the role models for a fitness and health lifestyle and then referred to the importance of sports in encouraging the future, particularly girls, all over the country. PM Narendra Modi, in fact, congratulated the players for their perseverance throughout the competition, having opened the tournament on a weak note, they eventually recovered dramatically to take the top honor.
